Retro Newbie
Hopefully this first attempt to post pictures works. New member, first post. If I can figure out the pics I've got more to share. I picked this up this up about a week ago. The pictures in the local listing weren't too clear. It had a set of panniers on it which kept some of it hidden. All I have done is remove the panniers and aired the tires. Probably has less than 5 miles on it. All of it is to catalog specs with the exception of tires. Ivan
Oh, these are the "before cleaning" pics

Re:

Here are a couple more. I like the tires as well, I wish they were still available. I was speechless when I saw it in person versus the picture that had been listed. Just said thanks, paid, and loaded up. Pulled over a few blocks away to take a better look before the drive home. :D

Also, yes, I'm a newbie to this forum. I've been a member of the bmxmuseum for 11 years... so for the most part understand the forums work. I'm looking forward to the knowledge and passion we share.

nice, the cranks or chainrings cant be the original though surely? was biopace out in 86? I cant remember..

Re:

Yes they were, but this is about the only information I've found. I was going to use the parts for another frame but it was too nice to mess with so I am going to leave it be and get the parts elsewhere.

-Jeremy Torr had one of his bikes on the Middlemores trade stand. Middlemores at that time were the sole importers for Shimano. To his bike was fitted the first 'Biopace' chainset. "You've fitted this the wrong way round" I said to Jeremy. "Nope" he replied, and showed me all the technical paperwork. That was when I learned that the top experts can f**k up good and proper. It put the kybosh on all the efforts of Chris Bell, and screwed what was a major breakthrough in bicycle technology. However, you can still buy EggRings, but you can't get Biopace for love nor money, and why would you want to?

Yep, Small Dole, August 1985
