looks awsome tho, mines too small realistically but it climbs like no other bike ive had for very many years, long chainstays make excellent use of traction

Excellent build... BRAVO! The Rockhoppers make awesome riders. I've had a blue Rocky for several years http://www.flickr.com/photos/16461051@N ... 999156145/ that I like so much, I just picked up a second one (in red), exactly like yours, although I can only hope my build turns out half as nice... Cheers Bobby - love it in blue, colour really suits it, and I agree, the riding position makes them great around town bikes.

I have since converted the drive train back to derailleur, and it's now with my daughter (at Univ of Vermont... she loves it)... I do miss it, so the Red Rocky will fill the void... Also recently picked up a 1990 Trek 970 (lugged steel) frameset - the Trek 9 series also make fantastic all-rounders.

So many classic bikes to restore, so little time...
