Retro Newbie
Hi.

Reluctantly selling my 1984 Raleigh Record Sprint. I purchased it 7 years ago and set about restoring it. It's 95% finished but has yet to see the tarmac. I feel it needs to go to a better home!

It's in fantastic condition with only minor paint blemishes and a few marked decals.

Apologies for the arty photos! Got a bit carried away when I finished the project. Can provide more photos if required.

All original apart from:
- Saddle - replaced with a Selle San Marco Rolls Due (90s model unfortunately)
- Brand new MKS pedals
- Tyres - Raleigh CST 700 X 25c Traditional Gumwall Tan
- Spokes - new spokes
- Bar tape - black Velox Cotton
- Lion Bellworks Brass Bell - steerer mounted

Just requires the wheels truing and its good to go.

Frame: Raleigh Record Sprint 1984
Colour: Gloss Black
Frame Number: NE 412834
Frame Size: 60cm (23.5")

- Reynolds 501 aero tubing
- Sakae engraved gold bars
- Weinmann drilled 500 gold brakes
- Sakae gold cranks
- Weinmann black anodised 700c QR wheels (front wheel still has painted brake surface, rear has worn).
- 12 speed

Based in Sheffield. Collection only or delivery to South Yorkshire.

£200.

Many thanks,

Pete

Re:

That is a beauty ! You've done a great job.
I'd get the wheels trued for £10 at your LBS and then sell it on eBay, for more than you are asking here. If you pick the right weekend, eBay only charge £1 comission, so you won't be giving them 10% of your bike for the pleasure.

Hi All.

I've popped the bike on eBay now. Wheels trued up (thanks Dirt Disciple) and sale ends at 2100 tomorrow.

Thanks for looking.

Hi I'm restoring the not so gold version but mine did have the gold wienman brake cables ,,,,any idea where I might find some

Hello Pete I've seen your old add, I know it's 2019 and a lot has happened since then. Did you regret selling the sprint, I have two MK 1's and a MK 2 like the one you sold. I noticed that you had a gold rear casset/coggs on yours, did yours come like that. I thought only the MK1's had the gold casset even though I do appreciate that Raleigh could have used there old stock in the transition into the MK2 model. I did find a new old stock rear cassett which I never used.

Mike
