Ive got a pair of Hutchinson 26" tyres from a bike from 83 i had a while back. They have been hanging in the workshop and tbh, im not sure if I should chuck them or not .

They are not cracked on the treads, but the side walls are pretty dry. Tread is very good.

I personally wouldn't ride them too far or hard, but knowing older period tyres are hard to get, im not sure if they might not be worth it for somebody with an early wall hanger or someone wanting period correct.

Obviously post nearly a tenner first off.

So are they worth a shot or just tip them?

I'd ride them! AND I'd crash riding them! 🤣

100% someone would use them. I don't have an early enough build for them, otherwise I'd be PMing you right now!

Maybe im over cautious! I did try pumping them up on spare wheels and they seem pretty sound tbh.
They look to be fine, I'd ridden/raced on worse! Obviously not the best used for fast/knarly riding, but they will still be more than capable.

As @Tsundere said, this period/age of tyre is becoming harder to come across.

Not sure on price in all honesty. Feels like they'd work well on some 80s cruisers and BMX market is stronger than MTB's at the moment.

You always price things to sell, but guess start at £30/40 posted and be prepared to drop them. As always, these will be perfect for someone, they just need to know they are for sale on RetroBike!
