Thanks. Yes, a gold chain is not something I'd have instinctively chosen, without it being in the 83 catalogue. I like it too. A shame the freewheel has lost a lot of its gold coating.

If it fits, there's a size 55 Somec Special frame on ebay in Canada with original paint. It has all the features of my frame (mounts for two water bottles, Gipiemme dropouts and lug on the head tube for a pump) so it shows that the decals on mine may not be correct. See:
