198? KHS question

Thanks for the nice words. Way too big for me, so I will put it up for sale and maybe someone nearby will like it enough to purchase. The levers are the resin version of Suntour XC Sport like most of the components and the hoods are in great shape, I guess the lowest level? More pics!

Hard to see, but a similar gusset has to me only the one from 1982

just with regards to the used components, yours should be younger

Some of the later KHS bikes were constructed in the same factory as Diamondbacks, I have two such examples on my list from 1993 - understand these are newer than your bike.
Have you been able to find a frame number on this one?
 
Not sure if this will help ID the frame or year and I did contact KHS so waiting on their response.
