1975 Raleigh sbdu 58

Re:

I've got a frame that looks like this (in similar need of respray too) - it's branded a Raleigh Europa, I was given to understand it was a cheapish bike. Seeing as there are so many of these Raleigh Team liveried bikes around how do you know which ones are any good? Mine's got a broken weld at the chainstay and a seized bottom bracket. Other than that I'll be getting it back on the road soonish.

Ta!

Re: Raleigh sbdu 58 (62cm) bought off scrapper!

The better ones were made in the lightweight unit ( or Worksop) and have frame numbers starting W. The SBDU frames which were the very best have frame numbers starting SB. There are also custom built SBDU frames with an additional H number, for example H164. The mass produced main factory models have frame numbers starting N. Then there's lots of foreign market and foreign made Raleighs with different numbers altogether! Google Raleigh frame numbers and all will be revealed!

This just gets betterer and betterer.

Got the correct brake levers at long last, would like some sl pedals and then I'd be 100% happy with it.
