Thanks for taking the time to read this. I have recently modified a 1970’1980’s Raleigh road bike, new wheels, refurb brakes, new handlebars etc, I have a few parts yet to be installed such as new brake lever/gear shifters. This may well be an older bike than is the norm here? This is not a professional restoration but it should be good enough for my immediate needs, I may even do a proper job of the respray next spring once I know that everything works and I have the capability to do the work.
My problem is this. There are no holes to attach a gear hanger on the rear of the frame, there must have been a way to do this originally? I have not messed about fixing bikes since I was a kid so treat me like a novice.
Is there an adapter that I can buy? Where do I buy it?
Should I ditch the old hanger and replace it with a more modern one? (I have one from a Specialized)
I appreciate the time that you may take to read/respond to this.
Regards
Nick
