Another frame for identification.
Please have a look at the attached photos, I am trying to identify this frame, parts and manufacture.
The frame has built by A.E.Elsegood headstock decal, and Minster on the down tube, but I am not sure that this is correct! There is a post on lfgss (http://www.lfgss.com/thread109190.html), but this frame does not resemble the others!
The frame is from the 1950’s, the rear Simlex dropouts were available from 1952, the bottom bracket has British Made and GR23 V LS stamped and a frame number 27699. The lugs are unknown to me, but the headstock one looks like a copy of the finials on the York Minster decal. There are two oilers, grease nipples, one on the BB and the other on the lower headset bearing. The rear brake bridge, and the tapered chain stays where the meet the BB shell may be a clue. The forks are also interesting, as the resemble track forks from a1950’s JRJ (now Bob Jackson).
