Re: Recent Barn Find(Thrice is a Charm)

That's better, perfect start point! Are you not tempted to leave it as is? Pretty cool I think...

Re: Recent Barn Find(Thrice is a Charm)

I could just clean up the spots where the brazeons will be and go with it. At this point just happy to have a canvas to start with. Tempted to get an original headbadge for 9£.

Re: Recent Barn Find(Thrice is a Charm)

Was fiddling a bit to night. Very quick mock here. Think the bars need more sweep, but still early on.

Re: Recent Barn Find(Thrice is a Charm)

I've read that a 1-1/8" BMX headset will work on Schwinn head tubes. I have no idea what size a Cleveland is, though...

Re: Recent Barn Find(Thrice is a Charm)

All searches for a headset are coming back with nothing in 1 1/8" Guess I'll have a standard 1 1/8" turned to fit, since I'm not after a rigid or 1" fork.
Parts for the build are trickling in with some pics to follow

Re: Recent Barn Find(Thrice is a Charm)

Seatpost is super stuck and nothing to hold on too, Some bloke had welded the clamp to the frame. So a slight set-back, just lots of time involved getting it out. Custom fabricated a new seat post yesterday for when I get this buggered one out. Will be working on a custom seatpost clamp shortly as well. My new nick name for this bike is "The Resurrection" as it seems it was almost left for dead :D

Re: Recent Barn Find(Thrice is a Charm)

Oh dear, I guess projects of this nature never run too smoothly but that's quite a task! Very interested to see what you have in mind for the post/clamp - plenty of extension into the seat tube for starters I imagine, to negate any harm done getting the old one out! ;)

Shredding the gnar?

A distinctly unfamiliar colloquialism.
