Quick up-date... You'll be glad to know this one will still be around on RetroBike even though I've sold it on...


Tooldtobebold now has it, and is planning a sympathetic build keeping all the original paintwork, whilst making it actually rideable..

Unfortunately he's struggled to post photos on here via the mobile version of the forum so he'll be passing them on to me to post here as he progresses...
First shots are of an initial wash & brush-up and a dry mock-up with some wooden rims..

Hello all, & perhaps especially to our American cousins.
I've just acquired a Claud Butler Olympic Path, frame built in March 1949 I believe.
Now people who have seen my renovations know I consider most paint and especially chrome as just another consumable, but this one is different, this one might just need a more sympathetic hand as it’s got a great "Stars & Stripes" bespoke paint job, and although a little tardy, perhaps worth saving?

Help is required on two fronts;
1. Cunning techniques on how to clean the frame up stop the rust and not damage the paint.
2. Any possible history, perhaps this was commissioned by an American track rider?
