Thought I was seeing double. That looks very similar to my old S-Works M2
Wait until you get it to plan your build, obviously need to see what needs doing first.
But, a cheap way of building a smart bike is a quick respray (powdercoats are about £30), fresh decals (from member gil_m on here) and then go singlespeed
Here is my old M2 to give you an idea of the ss setup you could do >
Normal chainset will do, just need the middle ring. Get a chain tensioner (try on here or chainreactioncycles.com). Single sprocket on the back, you'll need a kit for this, again try here or CRC).
After looking through the Specialized catalogues i think she may be a 1991 BUT im still not 100% so once i get her i'll post the frame number, should receive her any day now ??? :?
Got the project bike parts today and im well pleased
A shot blast and powdercoating of white and new decals should turn this into a really nice frame
I've decided that i'm going to go down the modern upgrades route 'ie' stem, riserbar, brakes (V i think ?), wheels etc etc ( so i can keep her as light as possible as it's quite a heavy frame compared to my Carrera) plus convert to single speed BUT would still like to know her exact year and model PLEASE if anyone can help
She has -
Brakes front - Shimano BR-M200
Brakes rear - Shimano BR-M201
Front derailleur - Shimano GS200
And the only code i could find on the frame (bottom bracket area) read -
