Can I see pictures of your neo Retro builds

you know.. kind of reminds me of the logic going on behind the Dyna Drive Shimano pedals. It placed the foot below the spindle of the pedal.

Can I see pictures of your neo Retro builds

Not sure if mine fits in the Neo Retro squarely well but its a '91 De Rosa with some contemporary improvements like Mavic Aksium wheels, Nitto Compact style M106 handlebars, Fizik saddle and 10 speeds in the rear with DA 7900 shifters. Because of the 10 speed change, chainrings and derailleurs...

Shimano 600 aero seatpost and quill stem

If by shimano stem, you are referring to these nitto made babies.. the most beautiful stem ever made... the DA ones use aluminium internal clamps for the handlebar and the lesser 600 ones use a metal of sorts.

Advice on clipless pedals and shoes please for road use only

Re: Advice on clipless pedals and shoes please for road use Now lets talk about style... if you want to do the retro thing, you could do these http://www.vittoria-shoes.com/eng/produ ... at=VINTAGE and get the ones that are SPD compatible so that when you walk to the coffee shop you still...

    Conversion to 2 x 10 speed - The itch that wasn't there

Tell me about it. The other day I ventured off road (I usually do road rides now) and was sore for 3 days after! BTW thanks for the info about friction shifting that worked well with 10 in the rear. I imagined all kinds of nasty trimming issues. I wonder how 11 would work?

    Conversion to 2 x 10 speed - The itch that wasn't there

Thats interesting, because i did notice that the chain slopped around a bit going from 52 to 39. I'm debating taking out another link from the chain.. will see, at the moment, i've soaking the chain in some lube. its a new chain, but am hoping that wet lube will soothe things away, otherwise...

    Conversion to 2 x 10 speed - The itch that wasn't there

Here's the bike L1060107 by paulblincoln, on Flickr The Ultegra 6600 grey is a little darker than the 6400 grey, but fortunately the word 'Ultegra' is not too obvious. The inner chainring though listed as silver is grey too L1060095 by paulblincoln, on Flickr Its a full house back there...

    Conversion to 2 x 10 speed - The itch that wasn't there

That reminds me, the Dura Ace 7900 10 speed Down tube shifters are a click click affair only. Pure SIS indexing, no option to switch to friction. Which is what I forgot to mention. Like you, I could have continued using my 600 tricolore d/t shifters as it has SIS/Friction, but I was initially...

    Conversion to 2 x 10 speed - The itch that wasn't there

Yes thats a brilliant suggestion and it was exactly what I did. I got a KMC Magic Link on my Dura Ace chain. With regards to an openable cage, the new Ultegra 6700 and low end Claris both do not have an openable cage. They have now been riveted shut. Pity. Either way the 6600 was chosen...

Shimano 600AX arabesque brakeset.. How much is it worth?

Re: Shimano 600AX arabesque brakeset.. How much is it worth I can confirm that the 600 ax levers are only worthwhile with hoods. Replacement hoods are next to impossible to find! I just purchased a NOS 600 ax lever with excellent hoods for USD$150

    Conversion to 2 x 10 speed - The itch that wasn't there

Dear community, I thought i'd share my recent endeavour. I recently converted my De Rosa Professional SLX with full Shimano 600 Tricolore 2 x 7 speed group set to a 2 x 10 speed. What you'll need 10 speed cassette for the rear 10 speed shifters (mines Shimano Dura Ace 7900 braze on down tube...

    Dura ace AX dynadrive pedals

Hi James, I would like to ask how you opened up the Dyna Drive pedals. I'm attempting to service a set but for the life of me cannot seem to open up the pedals. I've got them off the bike already. I've inserted a Hex key into the screw on the 'rear' of the spindle (the side that would be...
