    1988 Brodie Romax

Happy Good Friday! Gonna be a very nice spring long weekend  (well, for the most part) Amazing weather in Burnaby today, my first of two rides planned today, this 1st one a solo ride taking a really good neighborhood forested trail. It has great views of Burrard inlet and a very steep...

First good length ride today, beautiful sunny Vancouver weather too  Riding buddies broke out their romax’s for a proper “romax ride”, my #278, Ryan’s #279, Roy’s #227 (late 1987) and Vintageman’s splatter beauty, we figure an 89’ romax with the curved gatorblade I really love the way...

Thanks so much for all the kind words and feedback. I couldn’t be happier myself with the outcome of this build. My ideas and build planning have evolved a fair bit the last few years being heavily influenced by the many great builds on this forum along with the different opinions of my local...

Yes, the SS-5 is a favourite of mine, I went with the all black version and think they suit the build, a bit of artistic license taken 😉

It's finished and I love it I waited a week before shooting the clearcoat after laying down the base coats, a good idea to ensure the base coat was fully cured and it was also nice to have a few days to carefully add small touch ups to the original red paint where there were some paint chips...

    89 Timberline re-imagined

Thanks for the quick reply Phill! 😁 Yes, I've used it before a couple times and always take care to cover up well and use a respirator, thanks for reinforcing the point though, the paint has a pretty toxic reputation Good to know going in tomorrow that I should be okay to not run out early 👍

    89 Timberline re-imagined

Hi @PhillB , I'm just rereading this. Really great paintwork BTW I'm about to attempt 3 coats tomorrow on a frame only with the SprayMax 2K clear, you mentioned 3 coats "only just" but I assume that was 3 coats on the frame/fork/stem? If that's the case I should be more than okay getting 3...

    1988 Brodie Romax

I've been busy :D The front yellow and red stays were pretty tatty and I couldn't have lived with keeping them as is and simply making a few touch ups. I'm glad to be keeping the original paint scheme after a lot of thought back and forth last year and like to idea of keeping some of the...

    26" Tan/Amber Wall Tires?

Sorry for the delayed reply, this held up reasonably well but there was need to reapply now and then as it would absorb and look better but would then slowly dry out again, I was lucky enough to locate a better condition rear tire last year to replace it👍🏻

It's been a minute.. But as the saying goes "good things come to those who wait" I got my frame back yesterday from my welder buddy, I was fortunate enough to watch his amazing work as well (he even had a second welders mask for me to wear). A little refresh of what he was up against...

    Sold Merlin Titanium cycling jersey

Being located in Canada I posted this on FB only so far, maybe there'll be some interest here, I'm happy to ship internationally at buyers expense, I'm asking $100CAD OBO. The Jersey is in excellent used condition, size is medium but wears a bit smaller than a north American medium I think ...
