    Are all boosters the same???

Thanks all for the feedback. Andy R - I am confident the brakes are correctly set up but the pads are old (but only about 200 miles of use) and so are the rims so it could be a bedding in issue. Not intending to change rims or pads so I shall have to see if they improve over time now I am...

    Are all boosters the same???

Possibly - are they going to be compatible with V brakes? I would also only need / want one for the rear as I have RC35's up front.

    Are all boosters the same???

As above really - my Kilauea frame is not man enough for the XT V brakes resulting in very poor braking and lots of seat stay flex. Not good. So, I am not hunting for ultra light, I am looking for ultra stiff :o are there any recommendations out there or are they really all the same...

    Kilauea advice needed please!

OK, so finally got around to getting SWMBO to take a couple of shots of my fat @rse on the bike. No chin counting thankyouverymuch! Opinions on how to improve my riding position would be most appreciated.

    Kilauea advice needed please!

Well, I have decided to keep the old girl and experiment with stem length and angles. If I can get an aheadset steerer tube I'll do that, otherwise it will be a quil adaptor. Went for my first ride in a LONG time today and came home with a stiff neck and an aching back and that was after...

Steerer Tube Swap Shop - shorter for longer! NO SALES!

I have a 1 1/8 threaded RC35 steerer, approx 170mm exposed length (still on the bike). Would be interested in a swap.

    Kilauea advice needed please!

Thanks for the comprehensive advice! I think, if I can realise that sort of cash from my bike I will sell it and start again with a new bike. Heresy I hear you say! Well, perhaps, but someone else will benefit who might actually ride the thing! Off to the classifieds for me....

    Kilauea advice needed please!

Yup, red and silver two tone. I have fitted raised bars, but in the original stem that is quite flat. I worry that if I go for a longer stem that it will put me too far forwards again? I am 6' 2" with a 32" inside leg and long back, which doesn't help with the weight distribution...

    Kilauea advice needed please!

Just nipped out and measured the frame - Centre of bottom bracket to centre of top tube - 400mm Centre of seatpost to centre of headseat - 560mm. So what size frame do I have..? :? Oh, and I will post pics in a week or so as I am off skiing shortly! :P

    Kilauea advice needed please!

I don't think it ever really fitted me to be honest. It felt OK in the shop but out and about it was always too short...

    Kilauea advice needed please!

Evening all! First post on this forum, so be nice! My mounting biking life started in the late 80's with a Raleigh Montage, that got nicked (thankfully, it was brutal!) and I replaced it with an Alpinestars Cromega DX, with thumb shifters rather than those new fangled two leaver wotsits...
