Ive had mixed results with the spray.bike paint going on and i found the lacquer very strong(started to melt some decals) so I went back to Montana Gold which I find goes on much better and theres a wider choice as well.

I painted this using Spray.bike white but wasnt happy the finish so flatted it off and tried Nissan pearl white instead. Still wasn’t happy so went for my usual Montana gold paint and Im a lot happier with the finish. I put most of it together with parts from my old Kona Explosif. Mostly Xtr...

Ive given it a couple of coats of primer. I’m going to flat it back with some 2000 grit paper next and hopefully all being well it’ll be ready for some paint then.

A bit of an update on this now. I managed to get some forks for it, thanks Dan and the BB threads were fine so i got busy with some full fat nitromors and stripped it down. Paint is in order as I changed my mind about powder coating it.

😆just pot luck that i went online and it was there in front of me.

It alters the tension spring to move them to the left or right to centre them.

I’m missing a seal on my specialized headset. Its the type that fits inside the edge of the cup to seal against the lower race. Anybody got one lying around that they’re willing to part with please?

I took some 2000 grit paper to the paint and it came off in flakes. I noticed a smell of gloss paint as i did It and realised that its had 2 coats of interior gloss and a bit of varnish in places too🤣. With that in mind im waiting til i get hold of some forks and will get it blasted and powder...

The ones i have are from a 1998 rockhopper. I see you would need them posted to Canada so it probably wouldn’t be worthwhile as its around £40-50 to post them as far as I can see. Personally i’d wait for a set of P2’s if its for a Kona.

After my rather bad experience with the last one I have been on the hunt for something and this one came up. I think its a 1990 Comp but has been resprayed or blown over really badly. I can scratch the respray off with my fingernail :LOL:. It seems that the culprit masked off the USA sticker on...

Holy Thread resurrection batman!

As per the title, I need a set of direct drive forks with 1 inch steerer. Its 90mm headtube so needs a100mm or so steerer length. I have some later unthreaded ones 1 1/8 steerer if anyone wants a swap. Thanks in advance.

Rear drop outs could make it a 1994. The cable guide on the top tube could have been added later on prior to the lovely spray job I suppose.

The seatstays seem to join very high up on the seattube. And the headtube seems very long for a 19' I've just checked mine which is an 89 serial but 1990 and the seatstays are a little higher than I thought but the headtube is nowhere near the length of the listed one.

Id have fought you for it! Id love a 94 Stumpjumper in that colour.
