    Dynatech odyssey

Yeah. That's my old odyssey.... Sold it to a guy in Ely and the original 'holographic' frame number sticker matches. Full build thread here- https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/boy-o-boys-1991-raleigh-dynatech-odyssey.420325/ It had a full bare metal respray and was finished with 2K lacquer...

    Show us Your................. Ridgeback......!

@red_dread Love this. 🤩 Just spent a very enjoyable 20 mins watching the restoration video. 100% feel the passion for these early Ridgebacks. You've done a great job with yours. It's the 1989 model year after yours that triggered my passion for Ridgebacks. That yellow cover Freewheel Catalogue...

Thanks all! Dead chuffed that the 'Iceman' has a BOTM win against strong competition! Thanks to everyone that voted. From a Garden salvage frame - To being 'lost' by Evri To resurfacing 2 years later and finally being finished - Thanks to everyone that was part of the 'Iceman'...

To cage, not to cage, where to cage?!

Thanks @Woz Completely agree - the Aesthetic of adding a water bottle/ cage are often overlooked.....but it can be a Marmite choice, especially on a small frame or e-stay. Images, catalogue specs, and magazine articles had an influence over what was cool or desirable, but by '93 and the 'must...

    Marin Pine Mountain Browning

@mk one If I didn't already have one I'd be all over this! - given the heads up to a couple of members that were after one. Proper rarity. Less than 10 known examples left... This is one of the complete ones with all the hard to find Browning Suspension bits. Mine was definitely in worse...

    Marin Pine Mountain

The cheapest Pine mountain there is not only the most original, but also the rarest. Around 100 Browning Suspension were ever made as a limited edition. This figure was split over the DX specced Pine Mountain models and the XT specced Team version. The Browning Suspension version has a geometry...

To cage, not to cage, where to cage?!

For me.....if I'm going to put a bottle cage on, it's got to be on the down tube. Sometimes the image that influences the build has a bottle cage.....and I've got to add one. The MBUK image from the Oct 1990 RC100 test has one (without bottle) ....so I added 2 to my build!! Didn't get a choice...

    boy"O"boy's 1989 Serotta Off-road Pro-flex prototype

Glad you like the thread @markoc - get where you're coming from with the 'prototype vibe' Although it's interesting to see it warts and all...I'm still aiming for that MBUK Jan 1990 advert vision. Unpainted feels not finished if you know what I mean. 😉 As above @27motorhead ∆ I'm going to have...

    boy"O"boy's 1990 Serotta Offroad Pro-flex

Been a while since any updates to this thread. The Orange Aluminium "O" Iceman Prototype has taken over since it resurfaced back in July after being 'lost' for the last 2 years. Attention then turned to the Serotta Off-road Pro-flex prototype and trying to get that ready for paint, so this...

boy"O"boy's Parts clear out. Everything removed from builds before I started restoration. Can't guarantee things like shifters work so listed as spares. Tapers on cranks seem fine but they've only been removed not ridden. All parts in uncleaned/ as removed condition. Study the pics closely as...

    boy"O"boy's 1989 Serotta Off-road Pro-flex prototype

Well....other than the seat clamp crack and the rust hole above the bottom bracket Everything is remarkably sound. The frame had been painted over what looked like a polyester primer. This had gone over and etch primer and the sheer thickness of paint had done a good job of preservation...

    boy"O"boy's 1989 Serotta Off-road Pro-flex prototype

So. Here it is completely stripped back to bare metal. The swing are was reassembled to check the fit of the @fguki elastomers. Absolutely spot on! The keen eyed will notice that I've managed to salvage the original flex-stem. There is a dent that will need filling but on the whole, it's...

    boy"O"boy's 1989 Serotta Off-road Pro-flex prototype

More updates. So whilst I'm slowly stripping the paint back to bare metal, I contact @fguki about the possibility of having some elastomers made that replicate the original stack on the prototype. The 'production' Serotta Off-road Pro-flex has a single green elastomer. The catalogue and advert...

    boy"O"boy's 1989 Serotta Off-road Pro-flex prototype

So. A few months away from the Pro-flex. Been finishing the Ridgeback and Aluminium "O" prototype builds and also getting plenty of riding in as training for the London to Brighton off-road event that I took part in back in September. London to Brighton off-road 2024 This has meant that the...

Sorted Campagnolo triple front derailleur. Bottom pull 31.8mm DIA

@27motorhead I've got this Campagnolo front derailleur I've just found in the parts bin. I know it came off of an Aluminium "O" so it's definitely a 31.8mm clamp size. As to which model - I have no idea. Needs a good clean up. Best part about it is that it's free!! PM me your postage...
