Bottom bracket thought it was stuck... I love this tool more than anything else in the workshop.

    1964 Moulton Mark I (finished!)

Replacement (and strengthened) rear fork was supplied by Gary Hall from Moulton Preservation.

    1964 Moulton Mark I (finished!)

Drilling it out ruined my HSS-Co drill bits, so I invested in one of these... Brilliant (but pricey) bit of kit which ground the bits back to new again.

    1964 Moulton Mark I (finished!)

Removing the rear fork is an adventure all in itself. On both the Moultons I've worked on, the axle / pivot assembly has been rusted into a solid immovable block of metal which no amount of heat, cold, or PlusGas had any impact on. The only solution was to carefully drill it out. Once the axle...

    1964 Moulton Mark I (finished!)

First problem was a common one with the Mark I bikes where the raked design of the rear fork caused a stress fracture in the brazing and then the tubing itself. This one had it bad enough on both sides of the fork that it was unfortunately beyond repair.

    1964 Moulton Mark I (finished!)

This is the second one of these I've done now and this one's a favour for a friend. It belonged to his gran from new and he wants something to remember her by, so a sympathetic restore is the order of the day. It is one of the Bradford-on-Avon built bikes and superficially looked OK, but some...

    1965 Moulton Deluxe

Going from the first pic, your bike looks like a Mk II Deluxe which was manufactured from 1963 to 1967. I think it is a Raleigh produced frame since it has the combo of a Nottingham headtube badge, a rotated seat tube and a removable crossbar tail. The ovalised seat tube is wider across the...

    1965 Moulton Deluxe

Subscribed... I'm halfway through a 1964 Mk I Standard at the moment. Was just getting my ar5e in gear to start a thread on it also. Some pics of a previous one I did here if it is any interest. Current one will be a sympathetic restore though. The year and serial number are normally stamped on...

    Tootyred's Feedback

A happy customer! Bought some rims which were sent with bulletproof packing. Excellent comms and a pleasure to deal with. Thanks.

    Liability Insurance

Just for the record, he wasn't looking for someone to blame. He was phoning up embarrassed at himself for not checking his own bike and asking for advice on a basic set of checks he could do himself to avoid the exact situation he found himself in.

    Liability Insurance

Great info thanks, just what I was looking for. Also a good point about actually getting the cover itself. Merely requesting cover might raise more problems than it solves. I think I have my answer :)

    Liability Insurance

Completely agree with this sentiment also, however, depending on the cost it could be justifiable from a peace of mind perspective. I suspect it probably isn’t cheap though.

    Liability Insurance

I'm 100% sure I'm not alone on the forum in servicing bikes and building wheels for friends and family. I've never really given any thought to a "what if something goes wrong" scenario.... until last week. A couple of months ago, a friend asked if I could fix a creaky bottom bracket on a bike...

That is fantastic looking work @wadsy 👍 BTW… what is the silver thing in the back of this photo? Something for cleaning parts I’m guessing.
