    Brodie quill stem...

Looking for a Brodie quill stem 1 1/8" for my 1992 Catalyst. So many things to trade, or cold hard cash. Photo for reference (the one I let get away, sigh). Thanks for your help, it's the last piece I need for my build! ☮️ Brodie quill stem by shamalama88, on Flickr

    1992 Off-Road Toad (dark green)

Not related. Offroad Toad is a brand out of Vancouver BC Canada. There was an earlier fillet brazed ORT, then these tig-welded ones. Okay a few other rarities are out there (Horny, titanium, etc.), but no 'Master'.

Shakedown ride out of the way, and some longer ones, bring me to one conclusion: this bike ROCKS! 20191123_edit by shamalama88, on Flickr 20191123_124903 by shamalama88, on Flickr 20191123_121528 by shamalama88, on Flickr 20191123_121456 by shamalama88, on Flickr 20191123_121510 by...

    1988 Off-Road Toad (Updated Pics page 8)

Re: 1988 Off-Road Toad (Finished Pics pages 6/7) Gladly, it's been a while, probably time for an update. I replaced the stem with something shorter: a fillet brazed Rocky Mountain 1" quill I had repainted. And upgraded the Hite Rite to an Xtra Hite Rite. Much better :) 20191208_125504 by...

1988 Bradbury Manitou (finished pics page 12!)

Thanks k-rod, here is a photo of it, currently on my wall as part of my rotating living room display. It still gets ridden though! I change them out every month, it's my vintage calendar. 75627368_10157790099714400_3909323380788035584_n by shamalama88, on Flickr Can you spot the differences...

As much as I wanted to make the Maguras work, it felt like I was forcing it a little, trying to be different for different's sake. As much as I love the performance of Maguras, I keep coming back to the simple aesthetics of cantilever brakes. As I sat and stared at the bike and buildpondered (my...

    1992 Off-Road Toad (dark green)

First mock up, I had an idea to go with a set of Magura hydraulic rim brakes. I thought it made sense on a couple of levels: it would eliminate the need for a rear brake cable hanger at the seat collar (cleaning up the visual clutter), and the full length housing would mirror the full length...

    1992 Off-Road Toad (dark green)

Re: I loved Rumpfy's build, it was pretty much flawless. And the Accutrax, IRD, Bullseye, and Cook Bros all make sense, as most of the high end parts of the day were sold in Mountain and Beach, Rod Kirkham's Vancouver BC store. But I wanted to add my own touch, and perhaps make it a bit more of...

    1992 Off-Road Toad (dark green)

Yes changes for the better are underway. Long story short I sold the frame to Rumpfy in California, he had been looking for one for over a decade. He did an amazing build, rode it, and sadly came to the conclusion that it was a bit too large for him, and he kindly agreed to sell it back to me...

    1992 Off-Road Toad (dark green)

A few years ago I managed to swap a few horses and in a long convoluted effort (with promises kept and goodwill flowing) I finally got it back home for me to tinker with. My friend bought the bike new in 1992, and over the years made some unfortunate upgrades: 1992 Off-Road Toad by...
