Didn't Sram bring it in to get around the Shimano front mech patents and the fact they couldn't design a decent one?
I was very meh at the beginning and would still be happy with 2x but it has certainly benefitted full suspension design so has it's uses.
That's a good point actually. With more variety of trails available now and different bikes in the garage I probably wouldn't plan a ride that would be a muddy slog, I'd ride somewhere else and save that route for better weather.
These are the set I have. Came on a bike (1994 Orange E2) I've not even looked at yet so still dirty but seem to be in decent useable condition. If you are interested I'll clean them up and check them over properly.
Poor design would be my guess as certain frames were very prone to it. These days with narrow/wide rings and clutch mechs it really shouldn’t be a problem.
Glad you are home and recovering mate. Having spent plenty of nights in hospital with my lad this year, listening to other patients conversations I can appreciate some of what you went through.
Didn't know they were still going tbh. It's a shame if it's a decision that's been forced rather than planned.
Remember when they first popped up on here and some of the lovely bikes they showed. Then it all got a bit naughty and they seemed to stop posting after a while?
They were the standard m/l/xl measurements from centre to top. They also did a 15” small in some models.
Don’t think I’ve seen an 18” p7 although I had an early clockwork that was and from memory the Aluminium O was even numbers?
