I've spoken with Brian and he confirms the frame was a Roger Kowalski build. No idea where it is now or if it even still exists!

Just remembered I've got this. Bought from the Stoke shop early '71 along with some CS shorts, quickly rebranded 'Live Art' to avoid the RTTC stasi. It is fairly large and was good for taking stuff when riding out to events.

I've often used brake fluid to remove paint from plastic models. I've got an old jamjar of 'old style' fluid. I'm not sure if the modern stuff will work in the same way though.

You might be getting confused with Roger Kowalski who, for a time, built frames in Harry's basement. The image below shows Roger building and Harry filing lugs - probably about as close to frame building as he ever got. Roger also built for Clive Stuart in Stoke-on-Trent for a while - but...

Lovely machine. I didn't know that Mercian did lugless frames. They made an excellent job of this one! Looks a bit 'Telecom'ish' to me.

Great to see the bike in my photo is still around nearly 60 years later. I can still remember the 'tick-tick' of the SA hub gear as he passed.

Here's a photo of Cliff Smith riding one of his RRA's in the Mersey RC 24 hr time trial around 1965 when it was the National Championship event. A bit out of focus I'm afraid but it was a rather basic cheap camera. I've left the two spectators in the shot as they add a bit of period 'colour'...

My vernier is Mitutoyo. Had it for years, none of this modern digital rubbish. Gets used most days for something.

Was it Steve Lawrence the National Road Race Champion that rode a Buck? I remember it from photos in Cycling BITD.

AFAIK his frames were bought in. Possibly from a variety of sources but I don't recognise the seat stay top at all. Looks rather chunky and inelegant to me.
