Dave Yates / Joe Waugh frame

Old gh bug

Devout Dirtbag
I recently bought this bike and I have decided to strip it down and refurbish it
I am going to build it up with items that I wanted 40 years ago that I couldn’t afford.
I have since stripped it down and found the frame number does anyone know if this is an early model frame as it is only three numbers MS 578

Hi Ned that was my thinking also on the number on the BB just wanted to clarify as i have seen some later frames with a long number that i couldnt work out, it only has cable guides brazed on the top tube

I am restoring it to a similar bike that i use to race on in the 70's

Well I have painted the frame and added decals not sure whether I should line the lugs or not , it may be a bit too much for this little frame.
Well it will slowly be going together over the next couple of weeks , I just need to get some good brake levers🤔
