3 speed Sports roadsters and 10 speed Sports "race" bikes were marketed at the same time? Just seems odd for two completely different styles of bikes. Those chain rings look to only be about 3 teeth different; again very odd. I assume it has some Raleigh badging somewhere. Is there the typical 3...
Another Italian to add to the mix; a salvaged Rossin frame from the mid 80s; was going to be tossed out! Maybe Record model? TT guides were ground/cut-off when I got it. Needs full restore due to surface rust. @Psimpson any ideas as to the model since I see you have a couple Rossins? I cannot...
Thanks for posting these 2 examples from such extremes in both design and epoch. I have not seen previous examples of either bike. I would merely flip a coin at this point since both are unique regarding their style and intended use.
Kudos to both entries; I have nothing that comes close to...
Interesting frame; I think you should start a separate thread for it. I had never heard the name before, and I have never seen a cromor frame that was crimped/fluted in any fashion so I would say that it is fairly unique. I looked up the brand and apparently they are still in business. Maybe you...
It's a "doggone" shame not to post them all. Every artist put in a great effort, but here are my final faves! What are your favorites?
The same mountain pictured on the above dog: Mt. Wachusett (climbed later that week) photographed from the opposite side of the ski slopes depicted on the dog...
From my ride in early Autumn while trekking to one of my hill climbing "parks".
Roadside "dog show" of custom painted works of art for charity auction.
It was an interesting and an enjoyable break in the ride. Here are a few of the "best of show" IMO:
Sorry I have not been online for awhile.
While out on the Frankenbike Lemond Alpe d'Huez I came across a weird streetside "dog show" as I was passing through a town heading for the hills earlier this Fall. I will post a few more photos as a separate thread since there were about 30 or more...
Thanks @pigman and @Jesper !
I always wanted an ALAN frame or Vitus. Cool beans, now I guess I have one. Thanks for the catalog references; it looks exactly like my bike, frame, parts, and color.
I got this bike as a bit of a salvage job a little over 2 years ago. Pretty much unmolested except it was stored near the ocean and practically every steel piece is rusted. Slowly replaced all the parts with cleaner versions. I need to take some finished photos, but haven't gotten around to it...
Hi Jim,
Were any of those bikes pre-1979? Were any without the Pernod award decal? You stated they were made by De Rosa, but were being marketed as Mosers; true? Did any have De Rosa lug cut-outs, or did they get "M" treatment as well? That would be an interesting bike with the engraved...
