Frame is suspension corrected so the X-Fly reduced to 60mm should be PURRFECT.

PROGRESS!! - dragged it out of the garage in fading light to snap some quick pics, I will update once it's dialed in but these should give you the idea. I didn't really plan a "theme" but pretty much turned out a subtle black and silver parts mix - 25 pounds as pictured. Ended up reusing...

    Mount Tam clunker

Mild steel is forgiving...big pry bar to open enough to get past the brace, then close it back up in a vise. Arr ;-)

    early 90's KHS Montana Descent

The Mag 20 came with the bike at the time I was like SCORE - closeout 92 model purchased in 93. Fork still works pretty well!

    show your beach cruiser/clunker/chillout ride...

Did someone say cruisers? Nice Iggy - I had one for a while, shined it up to this stage: I was going for the "postcard" look I think most folks on here know I have a soft spot for the clunkers... Pic from a recent cruise on my 1936 La Salle bomber - original paint. Me...

Alan Bonds 1939 "Orange Dream" bomber

You can fit a 1 1/8" threadless headset into a pre war frame - it takes some very careful milling but it has been done. The 1" BMX headset I used went into the stock headtube with zero mods so I could revert to pre war headset, that was what I liked. A nice 1" steerer Marz fork reduced to 60mm...

Then you likely saw the 38 I built with a Nexus in back...and something else in front. THAT was a fun bike; sold it a couple years back to a fella who lives near Lake Tahoe and rides it down a place called Downieville - claims it's faster than his modern Santa Cruz Blur and I don't doubt...

The Orange 1938 now belongs to a mate of mine, we went for a little klunk last Sunday. The 38 is a C model with Morrow coaster and T1200 fork painted to match the frame - canti studs brazed by Otis Guy - with late 70s vintage Dia Compe touring cantis. That's a 54T TA track ring in front...

XC Pro indeed, those rear clusters are enough trouble hate to also need the special tools for a Mavic setup...it's still teaser stage as I have expressed interest in a broken bike with few miles on it in storage for decade ++ - hope I haven't jinxed myself counting chickens

Love it Dr P! Still in contact with Charlie? PS that really needs a Cyclone rear mech, but if it works why mess with it ;-)
