Question regarding Tommaselli Racer levers

I have a few sets of Tommaselli Racer levers. Two of them have round, one piece mounting clamps that slide on to the handle bar, but a third set, has a two piece clamp that comes apart, and lsides back together on to the bar (not very well, I might ad).

Question:

Is one type older than the other? How can the two piece clamp one be made to fit better?

nice; that looks like my one set, so the set I'm speaking of here, must be a later set, perhaps a second gen?
