    1992 Marin Pailsades Trail rebuild

Re: Super, great looking bikes there, thanks! I'm definitely going down the Exage/Biopace route for the chainset, managed to pick up an Exage 500 front mech and a 200GS rear mech which is a bit mix and match but the 1st MTB I ever had had 200GS so for me it's a nice nod back to the past :-)

    1992 Marin Pailsades Trail rebuild

Re: Ta, I think I'm leaning towards the Exage chainset, certainly more original for the frame than the Sugino's.

    1992 Marin Pailsades Trail rebuild

Re: Ah, that's excellent, many thanks! My heart goes for the retro-ness of the Exage and Biopace rings but they are somewhat, err, weighty to say the least but hey, that's not the be all and end all. I guess if I went down the compact route, I'd need a significantly shorter axle, something...

    1992 Marin Pailsades Trail rebuild

Re: Super, many thanks for the replies all. I think the Sugino's I was going to use are compact but I do have an Exage Country Biopace chainset that I could maybe use instead. It seems to have a large inwards offset that makes it look like there's no way the inner ring can be used without it...

    1992 Marin Pailsades Trail rebuild

Re: Thanks, not particularly original for the frame but I've got some old Sugino cranks in the shed, not in any way low profile, full thickness of the drive side crank is about 28mm, square internal section is roughly 18mm in length. On that basis go for 122mm over 118mm?

    1992 Marin Pailsades Trail rebuild

Hi all, I'm just getting geared up for a rebuild of a '92 Marin Palisades Trail, any of you fine folk know what size front mech, bottom bracket (I know it's 68mm but have seen reports of 118 or 122.5 for axle length) and seat post diameter I'll be after pretty please? After getting my not very...

    Repro frame decals

Hi all, does anyone know of a place to get repro frame decals please? Specifically for a '96 GT Pantera. Don't really need the "Pantera" decal but the rest of the set would be nice. Tried e-bay and although there's plenty of stuff nothing seems to be in the original Yellow and Blue colour...

    1 1/8" unthreaded forks please

Re: Hey d8mok, many thanks for the reply. What's the steerer length on the Rock Shox and the Blue Manitou's please? I think I'm needing 200mm or less. Thanks again, Alistair.

The 'swap for cider rummage scrummage'

Re: Hallo there, apologies for not PM'ing you but I must be being a bit of a dilbert as I don't seem to be able to. Anyway, I'm not too far from you, was just wondering if any of those forks I can see lurking in the picture are 1 1/8" threadless? Ta, Alistair.

    1 1/8" unthreaded forks please

Hi all, I've got an old GT Pantera that I'm rebuilding but I seem to have mislaid the forks sometime over the last 20 odd years. Don't suppose anyone has anything suitable please? 1 1/8" unthreaded, head tube is 108mm, canti/v-brake mount. Actual frame itself is around 16" measured centre to...
