Pete, stunning bike!
You've done a nice job on it.
Like it very much
I hope to show off my 550 and my RF-1, they're practically finished
PS I have a xst flexstem ti bar-stem combo at home (but in 1 1/8"). Too narrow for me.
Nice find for the money.
Not very sure about the tires, the skinwall is correct, but I like other style of tire.
But if you're happy with them then it's OK
The bike seems in stunning condition :-)
I bought some girvin forks in VG condition
Good price, great comms, very well packed, fast shipping and a nice guy
A pleasure to deal with him
100% recommended
He sold me some Manitou I forks.
Tracked postage, incredible packagement, very very fast shipping.
Great comms too. He reserved them for me for some days till i returned from holidays
Grazie mile, Gianni ;-)
Re: KG Engineering Offroad Proflex
Pete-mcc: stunning bike and bits!
I have a nos flexstem like yours too, but in 1 1/8".
The elastomer seems to be in nice condition.
Proflex decided in 1991 models to split in two bushes, cause in one bush models it seemed to crack a lot.
Sinnerman, I like...
Re: KG Engineering Offroad Proflex
KG engineering was the trademark of Girvin in the late 80's, KG are the initials of Kate Girvin, Bob Girvin's daughter.
They were engineers and they needed someone to gave life to their designs, they were based in Rhode Island, so Serotta was near from them...
Very nice bike.
I'll look forward to see the bike finished.
I have a pair of those levers but in use :-|
The only thing i would swap is the stem for a ritchey cromoly one... anyway, the bike looks superb
Re: Ringo's sale (Now with price drop!) Ringle, Pace etc...
I like the Girvins, I have a bike for them but... they're red! I'd like them black or polished, probably it's possible to leave the red paint but it's a shame for that inmaculate paintwork
Curious bike. The front frame is a tange infinity 550 frame, but the rear arm colour is from a 750 (alu frame) or a RF-1 due to the original neon orange (550's were blue). But what makes me sick is the colour of the flexstem, cause 750 and RF-1 had superoversize (1 1/4") headset and 550's had 1"...
First time I see this brand.
I think the ritchey seatpost wolud like better than the Dean one. In my opinion other chainrings too. But the simple lines of the frame look quite good, classic and efficient. I like the regal seat too. The bullmouse are you seeking is for this build?
