    GT Zaskar 95

I just paid $100.00 for a 94 with full xt and Kooka cranks from a guy who had just bought it for $20.00 at Sallly's. So I would say $20.00....lol....

    Manitou Three -Any good?

No suspension forks for non suspension frames for me, the fork has already found a new home.

    Tubeset of Specialized

No it's not, zoom in the the seatube direct drive decal.

    Direct Drive

The sticker on the seatube that says "Direct Drive Prestige". Also weigh your fork, if it is Prestige it should come in the low-mid 700 gram range. My understanding is some of the earlier Stumpy's were prestige but not branded as Specialized did not want to pay the license fees for the right...

    Manitou Three -Any good?

I pulled the Manitou three and installed a 3D fork which was the original spec on a 92 Zaskar. It pepped things up considerably, enough that I'm keeping the bike instead of sending it down the road. 30 mm of length and 5-9 mm of rake(depending on position on a 3D) is a substantial amount of...

    Tubeset of Specialized

Sticker say's " Prestige", so yes would be my answer. I own the same bike, it has the same subtle ride quality as my Prestige MB-1 . Nice specimen!

    Welding a steerer tube

I just completed my maiden ride on a GT Zaskar with a 3D fork we converted to threadless and lengthened using Rody's youtube video as a guide. Came out great and now the bike handles great with the correct fork. We used a old Trek showa 1" steer tube as a doner insert and it was press fit...

    Kona Kilauea First Build Hack

Not sure about Kona's spec but a non setback post is going to put your weight and position in relation to the BB to far forward if that frame was not designed around it. JMO.....

    92 Zaskar paint info?

Thanks, I think I am going to like it, it's very responsive to pedal input and seems well balanced. I just got it together last night after swapping the mediocre parts out for better stuff. So far it has only seen the park across the street where I run my Shepperd. Chemical strip? The paint...

    92 Zaskar paint info?

Here is my new (to me) Zaskar , serial number says 06-92 but I have not seen any 92's with this color , does this color look familiar to anybody for a 92 Zaskar? It's a 20"

    GT Richter 8.0

I think he measured to the top of the seatpost.

    Manitou Three -Any good?

Perhaps, although it does change the head angle around a 1/2 degree and brings the rake back near a 1/2".

Ride quality of 1989 Diamondback Axis/Apex straight fork?

Fork tubing diameter and thickness will be more of a factor than straight or curved as well as your weight for fork ride characteristics . Stiffness can also be a benefit for steering accuracy and braking efficiency. If your worried about ride a fatter tire with lower pressure will make more...

    Manitou Three -Any good?

I think you are right, it appears to be only 35mm of rake. Couple that with 430mm of axle-to-crown and is going to slow down a non suspension corrected frame quite a bit. I'm thinking a rigid fork and a fat tire will probably be more fun. It might be OK on a frame a few years newer that allowed...

1992 GT Zaskar or 1990 Avalanche

Don't complicate things , if I buy another bike I am a single man or I will have to sell something.

    Manitou Three -Any good?

I just bought a bike that has a Manitou three on it . Are these any good? Does anybody know what rake-offset they have?

    GT Team Avalanche 1989?

No expert here , but the Boise frame is a 20" as the seatube dimensions are identical to a 20" Zaskar that is stamped 20" on the L stay.
