Mountain Cycle Suspenders II + ProStop

Re: Yea I have a few pairs first gen (91) I, II and III but they are all in use and not for sale. There have been a few of them up for sale over the last couple of years so keep an eye out as they do pop up every now and then. I have a set of II's that are the leftovers from a build that I'm...

    Pro-Stop disc brakes

That mount is specific to prostop. The big difference between prostop and any other disc of the time is the size of the rotor. A front prostop rotor is 230mm where a sachs powerdisc rotor is 160mm. Would be near imposible to mount a smaller brake rotor. I would hunt around for a prostop, they...

    re-issue skinwall tires

Re: IRC and Hutchinson could be worth a go. Both made good gumwalls and I know there were some On the rocks II's reproduced in the early 2000's so may still have the molds. IRC (piranha pros etc) would be a hit with klein and yeti fans and the red or black missiles go for top dollar. Recall...

Sachs Quarts disc brake calliper bolt pattern

Re: You could contact Hope as they supplied the Volvo cannondale guys with brakes for the early sv 4000's They might still have an adapter available?? Think A2Z make them also. This is an adapter for the Moto 120 fork but I don't think it will work even though the mount is the same-...

When did riser bars first make an appearance?

Re: Club roost, azonic and answer had riser bars for 94/95 Not much rise though. DH guys like Mike King ran 20 deg stems plus the riser bar to get the height. could be an easier option to change the stem, good nic old risers are hard to come by.

Sachs disc rear hub (or magura hub)

Hi all, I'm after a Sachs Quarz, New Success or similar disc compatible rear hub. 36 hole ideally. Magura had re-branded sachs hubs which would also suit. Cheers Jake

    GT LTS-DH

Re: Not sure if it would be from december as they would have been producing the 97 LTS DH with the s bend type seat tube by then. Been meaning to shoot gm1230126 a pm about the serial no on the Boomerang's as I have 002960374 M which should be medium frame number 374 made in 96 but the first 3...

Do Retro MTB enthusiasts ride new bikes, too?

Yep love my 2014 bike! I'm a big fan of early downhill and dual suspension bikes and have been lucky enough to ride and own some pretty amazing bikes over the years but they just don't come close to the new breed of bikes. Bike design and technology has advanced massively of late and in the...

1995 dual suspension bike of the year

Pretty good bike for £60 Looks like the swingarm and forks have been painted which shouldn't be too hard to fix and I think Gil has decals for the 855. You also have the rear canti guide on the swingarm that will be needed if you don't run v's (often lost when the owner upgraded brakes bitd)...

25 dollar 1993 Manitou FS frame

Yea the AC guide is the top half of a 1995 model. They were designed for elevated swingarm bikes like a foes lts or san andreas and had a post that went through that loop in the clamp down to a lower roller guide. Most likely would have been removed as it would have hit the chainstays. Manitou...
