    wanted GIOS front forks

If you are still looking, I've got a pair of chromed Gios forks that may be going spare - 129mm threaded steerer is too short for my frame. Let me know if you want pics or more info.

    Gios in distress

Largish frame (late 80s?), good quality steel, components unclear from the photo. If I were nearer Sevenoaks I'd go and kick the tyres (such as they aren't). http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0650253053

RSP Cyclocross 1998/9, any ideas re tubeset?

Re: . Actually, I do, and to my considerable surprise I found it in the first place I looked. If you're not in a desperate rush, I can stick it in the post when I'm back in Blighty in a month or so. I could post it from here, but it probably wouldn't get there any quicker :roll...

L'eroica - advice needed on suitable bike and facial hair

You're probably right about small production runs of wool jerseys - perhaps the Rapha prices aren't so unreasonable after all. Reckon you'll be fine with 42x26 - I find (oddly) that I don't miss gears that I haven't got, if that makes any sense? Looks like the 205k shares much of the route...

L'eroica - advice needed on suitable bike and facial hair

Very jealous. Trying to persuade an Italian friend to do it next year. Presume you have seen the Brooks video on Youtube? (someone linked it in your earlier Eroica thread). The key appears to be a moustache suitably curled at the ends. The two French chaps who did Luchon-Bayonne (see the...

Sean Kelly rides Tourmalet in wool kit on 1910 bike! pics!

In a similar vein, about a month ago, two French cyclists recreated the original Pyrenean stage from Luchon to Bayonne on period bikes. Described here (in French): http://www.velo101.com/cyclosport/artic ... ns-!--1238 In short: 326k, 5 cols, almost 24 hours. One rode a 48x24(!) single...

It was 20 years ago today...

Nice trip down (or rather up) memory lane, but I'm with Carl on this one. Judging by the amount of seatpost showing, that frame is far too small for you; it almost looks like a normal MTB. As a rule of thumb when sizing Raleigh bikes for teenagers, while seated (with the seatpost stuffed...
