Would new Deore, or Alivio chainrings fit 4 bolt STX-RC cranks, or should I replace the whole lot with a new Deore Crankset ?

I got the old shock out and went to fit the new one. I tried the old Marin lower bush spacers and they are too loose (Marzochi is 12mm wide, and the old Shock Works is 13mm ish), and the supplied top bush spacers are right at 21mm but have 6mm holes, and I have a 8mm mount. So looks like I...

It happens in the middle and inner ring (higher gearing) on the front. The linkpin doesn't seem to be stiff. The rear mech alignment seems to be ok, shifts ok, unless trying to go up through 6,7,8 under acceleration. I haven't replaced anything else (yet) - just the chain. Its all...
