Rick Powell (?) / Giant Cyclocross

Oh, i meant the Raleigh factory team, not the pros.

Rick Powell (?) / Giant Cyclocross

There was the actual Raleigh team. And also Stilton RC/RT had three or four riders locally, they were supported team. Plus lots of riders actually bought the frames as they were fairly well represented and supported round there.

Rick Powell (?) / Giant Cyclocross

Yeah, it was basically a well funded shop/importer team, i can remember riding against them in the Notts and Derby league. Pretty sure Giant didn't actually have a CX suitable frame in their line up, so most of the frames were resprays from other manufacturers or custom built. I have a niggling...

    Who supplies Who.

TBH, the way those contracts moved around, it was probably only useful for about 6 months!

    Bikes at the dump.......

They do that in Sweden, tips are run by local government and the larger ones have a second hand shop next door. So as you drive in there's a covered, drive through, warehouse and anything you think can be saved or recycled gets taken out, reviewed, sorted and either scraped or sold. As for...

    KMC missing link loose

No, they are the "standard" way to join many chains. Pushing a pin in and out hasn't worked effectively since 8 speed. Except with Shimanos OS pins.

    KMC missing link loose

Is it KMC that has two versions? Single and Multiple use? Or was that Wipperman?

Help with modern road bike sizing

Nope. 70-80% of bike fitters (same as coaches really) have little to no idea what they are doing, and will charge 75 quid for you to have the privilege of them demonstrating this to you. Unfortunately, this was common BITD too, but the advice was free.

26" ride on a roadie ride?

This will make precisely zero difference, saddle to bottom bracket and bars should be almost exactly the same no matter what the frame looks like

Help with modern road bike sizing

Yup, that's why I ended up on frames that were way too big for me for years...

Help with modern road bike sizing

It's a nominal size, doesn't *have* to refer to any measurable dimension. Don't try to apply logic to it. It's an outdated system that should have been retired a couple of decades ago. I can still remember all the confusion when giant started with their compact geo. Loads of shops sold...

Help with modern road bike sizing

The size between 54 and 58. Probably the old school effective seat tube length.

Help with modern road bike sizing

Frame sizes are not quoted in top tube length. Effective seat tube length is the choice these days. But you size a bike with stack and reach

TREK 8300 pro composite project HELP

Depends how the mounts are attached to the stays as well. Have snapped the bosses off a steel frame BITD. The studs were threaded in and replaceable, but so well seized with rust, the brazed joint/tube failed.

Why does every shock I post or buy from overseas get lost?

Nah. Everything else I've ordered from the UK in the last couple of years has been tracked door to door as well. Commercial or private.

Why does every shock I post or buy from overseas get lost?

Errrr, I've just received two parcels from my dad, both tracked from Harrogate post office to my front door, 60km North of Göteborg, having passed through Belgium, Germany and Denmark on the way...

    Can you repair/weld/glue a cracked rim ?

The internal wall holds the air pressure. It's a lot of load. Exactly in the direction(s) that are going to cause that crack to open up, then peel apart.

Fork crown mounted canti brake rocker things

Only thing i'll say, carefully consider how it's attached to the fork crown/rear brake bridge. I've seen (once) the front of a crown that had cracked where the rocker was bolted on, whoever had fitted it had used a too short bolt and only attached it through the front face of the crown, not...

Carbon bikes sound shit - discuss

Just try a late 90's Principia. In comparison to my Principia, carbon is eerily silent.

The micro and the macro - CRC WIGGLE restructures

Most indies can't do that either. At a conservative estimate, half of the indies i've used over the years would have been better off never existing.
