If anyone wants an extra couple of miles I will be starting at Kirkbymoorside for a gentle spin (uphill) through parkland and lanes and later in the day a return via delightful wooded single track down Sleightholmdale and Kirkdale. It will add another 10 miles but the return route is cracking...

My new man cave has an ironic story. It’s the stables where Emily Davidson kept her pony as a child. Currently building a mezzanine on one side to get the bikes up and out of the way. The project has stalled a little as the weather is too nice not to be up in the hills 😊

I’m heading down to recce the route tomorrow. 19.6 miles. Lunch ten miles in. Plus options of two extra pubs. Some really fun long moorland descents. Two longish sustained climbs and a chain snapper of a climb/ walk on tarmac. Some of the best views in Eskdale
