    I think that suitable paint stripper would be much easier to work with compared to acetone. I used acetone on the linked frame mainly because I already had that stuff and it seemed to work. With acetone I was also able to clean some parts without damaging their stickers/decals:

    I removed some spray paint with acetone from this frame with some success. Just do not inhale and do not touch with bare hands :)

    Thank you guys for your kind words! And thank you for the SJS tip also, their postage to Finland for small parts is very reasonable. I just ordered an old axle from them and the delivery was fast. About the bike, I think I'll fix the fork next. Lowers need paint and decals, and fork boots...
