Did Hope ever make an XD freehub for Pro 2 hubs?

Thanks. I have an Evo XD freehub and found an old Evo axle at work. Going to see if I can retrofit them to my pro 2. The diameter of the Evo freehub where it interfaces with the ratchet ring in the hubshell looks very close (and also the pawls and springs are the same between pro 2 and Evo) so...

As the title really. Can anyone clarify for me please? And does anyone have one going spare (if they exist)? Thank you. Rich

Yes, they often run really close to the tyre. In my experience the tyre deposits clayey clag on them and that gets transmitted to drivechain, eventually (often pretty quickly) bringing everything to a standstill. It's why a lot of cross racers ran 1x before it was a "thing". This is my favourite...

I wouldn't. Nice enough to look but not a practical all year round multi terrain bike. For me, the modern gravel bike idea, or maybe call it a disc-braked 1x cross bike, is what I waited over a decade for. The clay where I live makes rim brakes and front mechs practically unrideable off-road for...

Got four pairs of wheels for mine: fast road, winter road, 700c off-road and 650b off-road. Haven't ridden my mountain bike for nearly a year. It's the perfect bike for where I live - lots of country lanes, downland bridleways and farm tracks. Still struggling to not call it a cross bike.

    Which wheels are better?

Sell them all and get a really decent pair of hand built wheels for about £400. They'll be light, fast, stiff, comfortable and serviceable. https://dcrwheels.co.uk/signature-wheelsets-2/#Standard-road

Thank you very much. The bikes are always a work in progress, generally fettling them to be lower and faster! 👹 And pinker!

Rear hubs compatible with 24 spoke and 12x135 axles

Bitex hubs come in that configuration. I run BX106 hubs on my road, gravel and mountain bikes. Take a look at www.bitexhubs.co.uk - they can configure hubs to most drillings, axle permutations and colours.

More pink on the Chickens. Been loving riding this bike over the past few months. Built myself some "aero gravel" wheels from some old German rim-brake rims on which the braking surface had delaminated. It goes like the clappers!

What is your Holy Grail among French frame builders?

I didn't even realise I was looking for a French holy grail, but I bought this frameset recently on here... And I think it is the nicest riding, possibly fastest (accounting for the ageing engine) bike I've owned.

As above please. Just need the cups really, but happy to buy a complete bb. Not too bothered about colour, but a slight preference for black. Thanks Rich
