Thank you for taking out the time to make the pictures! These shims are just a little bit wide for the older style clams, but on a black seat tube, it might not be all that bad... Or to make it pefrfect, one could shape the with of the shim exactly to the shape of the XTR clamp :wink...

I actually have the same problem! I have a very good condition XTR FD M900 in 34.9, but need one with a 31.8 clamp. Do you have a picture how it looks with an adapter? Which or what kind of adapter did you use??? Thanks for your help!!! Cheers, Alex

How tall are you? I am 5'8... Did you sit uncomfortable? I am somewhat worried about that too. I had been riding one the last time 15 years ago... It may be a "pain in the neck" because of the high sattle position!?
