    Carlton Giro d'italia build thread

Re: That's looking really good. You just don't see that many Giros. Just a question why the switch away from the Weinmann rims I'm assuming that you're going to 700c it's not any sort of criticism by the way I like the Weinmann rims personally but it does restrict your tyre pressure and 27"...

riveted brake lever bolt nut mounts

Has anybody got a cunning way of overcoming a compromised Weinmann brake lever mount riveted type nut? These are the type that are fitted into drill holes on the bars. I'd take a picture but I'm not at home. One of them is fine the other is loose and to be frank I think they are a bad idea...

Recommend me some late 70ies clincher rims

generally speaking sprint/tub rims were what were raced on. Fiamme were popular. I don't want to open a tub v clincher tyre debate PLEASE but I would personally suggest a clincher tyre for recreational riding as a puncture repair is just replacing a tube not a tyre. Fresh tripe.co.uk have some...

Mavic MA2 Last Version 36 Hole

I'm after the last MA2 style rim or wheel in 36 hole please. I might have something you need so a trade might be an option otherwise I'm happy to PayPal money. I'd consider a wheelset or pair but it needs to be in good nick not dished or worn out.

Any shops, online, in UK who sell Retro/Vintage bike parts ?

Re: Dave Marsh at Universal Cycle Centre is excellent Dave raced and is ex Carlton so he really knows his onions. If inner stand correctly you're after wheels? My suggestion would be Campag record hubs with good rims like the MA2 but try to find the later version rims with stainless eyelets...

    Carlton Pro Am 700c wheels

Re: After trimming up my Regina rim on a Maillard hub on my single speed for I don't know how many times now my mind is made up. Campag Hubs on MA2 rims. I might even push the boundaries of decadence and go large flange. The original single wall Weinmann rims on the Delux hubs on my Super...

Carlton Continental... colour may not please the purist!

Re: I'd say that it's a very sympathetic restoration and bikes have to be to the individual's liking. Personally I like what you've done. Enjoy it.

    Carlton Pro Am 700c wheels

I just thought I'd ask in case anybody has any 700c wheels that came off of a Carlton Pro Am? It did have one original wheel an OEM Raleigh single wall no eyelet alloy rim (I've been told these were Rigidas but I'd imagine Rakeigh had a number of suppliers) with a maillard QR hub both of which...

    Carlton Course Des Primes

Does anybody have any images or info on the Carlton Course Des Primes please? I'm interested in anything particuly pertaining to the components. I know from speaking with Dave Marsh that it was built by Carlton in the mid 60s wasn't 531 but was of the quality synonymous with Carlton.
