There was a lot of hype when then fork was released but it was a major disappointment due to design flaws and build quality issues. Having said that, they look awesome and I have been tempted to get a set.
So I don’t have any specific info on how to resolve your problem but if it was my fork I...
I have enough to get the bike running. Short plan is;
Get the frame and seat stays stripped + painted black/red
Rustle up some big yellow GIANT stickers
Get some spokes >>> lace wheels
I have some 636 pedals not in the pic
Get rear shock rebuilt (chances of getting a factory answer shock =...
I was migrating some old USB drive data and came across this picture, which I have been looking for for a number of years!
I bough the bike as a 1996 V-Link 3, in burnt orange with LX groupset and Manitou Mach 5 fork. At the time I was 16 and working at a petrol station as a cleaner for $4.60...

I snapped one of those back in 1995, face planted the ground without warning, got knocked out, was quite a serious crash. Having said that, I was not just riding to the shops..... probably ok for XC use but be careful not to over jump anything.
Re: Mavic D521 Ceramic 32 Hole
Update:
I just sourced a better condition front hub, but it is 36H, so now I need one 32 and 36 rim please!
Happy to buy them independently.
As title states, looking for Mavic D521 Ceramic 32 Hole.
I need two of them. Of course new would be great.
May be interested in variants of very similar type eg 321.
Let me know what you have.
Re:
What about the Mach 5 and Pro C versions??
Quite sure they had a removable crown. Not sure there are any leftover given the rate I snapped them at. It's a wonder Manitou didn't get sued beyond recovery. Bloody awful so proceed at own risk.

Some observations...
Re: Re:
Thanks Boxxer - this is exactly the sort of info I was hoping to get out of this thread!

The shock on Tomac's bike looks...

I am planning a proper ride this weekend, though I will be starting out slow - there is bound to be a loose bolt or two!
The tyres were given to me and probably are a little later vintage than they should be.
I initially intended to have more black on the bike, and agree they...
Haha I can't weld like that! The repair looks good and was done by a WRC engineer who is quite confident with the outcome.
It has only been around the block at midnight last night.
The brakes works and the gears work. The suspension feels as good as I can tell BUT I do not trust that...
