Cassette and chain alignment? Is it really a problem?

you'll only have to re-dish the wheel if in doesn't mount straight in the rear triangle. i.e. the tire rubs on either of the chain stays when the wheel is mounted straight in the drop outs.

Using an MTB rise stem on a Road Setup

check out the mtb dirt drop bar thread link bellow, i think this is what you're talking about. The nitto dirt drop stem is a 1" quill type high rise stem that would look fine on a road bike. http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewto ... sc&start=0

    Suntour/Shimano compatability

No it won't work properly. The cog spacing is slightly different on the suntour cassette. get a new suntour shifter if you want to fix it or else you'll have to replace the rear hub/cassette and dérailleur to a shimano. But i believe it would be cheaper to look for a new/replacement suntour...

Chainstay mounted brake and crank clearance issue.

I believe that you need a center pull caliper otherwise known as a U-brake under there. something like the old Mafac racer. You could also look of an old Shimano AX roller cam brake caliper and or the Campagnolo delta. All of these brakes very greatly in price but would probably give you the...

Suntour freehub, hub and cassette HELP!!!!!!!!

Re: thanks In so far as is known only the smallest two cogs have larger spacing on a suntour cassette all the rest are the same. The spacing between the lowest (smallest)3 cogs on the suntour is 5mm center cog to center cog, the same as a shimano 7-speed cassette. However, the spacing...

    Biopace rings, which way around?

the rings are intended to increase the crank speed on the down stroke by reducing the ring size at that point. Then the momentum built up carries you through the dead spot with less effort, while also pushing the larger portion of the ring. It is quite a ingenious concept, albeit a hotly debated...

    Biopace rings, which way around?

there is a small tab on the inside of the chain ring that should be aligned with the crank arm. I have mixed biopace rings with others rings on the same crank without any problems.

    Indexing compatability?

you could also try to source a pair of TOP MOUNT self trimming suntour shifters. The radius of the cable on the shifter body is larger so very little movements is required to shift. I have mine combined with a cyclone rear mech and it makes for fast and intuitive shifts. Highly recommended set up.
