Just ask Argos for some touch up paint. They can normally give you some paint from the pot so batch that they sprayed the bike with. I got some for free but I asked at the time my frame was sprayed.

Too many very good examples of proper 80's bikes here. I think my RC100 will be an early 90's imposter :) so decided not to put it up for BOTM this time. I am sure there will other BOTM opportunities. Bike is ready for Thetford on Sunday. It's first retrobike outing. :)

Cranks, Stem & Original RC30 Fork blades were painted by Argos Cycles in Bristol. They have a batch of the Fluo yellow paint which very closely matches the original paint. Thanks has to be given to Pete_mcc for getting Argos cycles to source this paint. Clem

Yes the steerer can be replaced. From memory, it can accept either a 1/18 or a 1" steerer. I will check tonight. Clem

Yes, diameter is the same as RC35 with 60mm travel so I expect that the V brake clamps can be added to these forks.

Unless you are VERY lucky to find a pre Microdrive XC Pro rear mech, (mid cage length), yes this is perfect for an RC100 build. Bought for the RC100 but it never arrived so bought another and started an ebay dispute....about a month later, the mech arrived....parcel looked quite battered but...

Travel is only 60mm but as stated they are very light forks indeed. Steerer is defnintely 1" as they were fitted to an RC100 frame for quite a few years. Clem

So guys, as you are all hung up on the temporary rubber :-) Who knows of some Amber Walls at Sensible money. They do not need to be Specialized Ground Controls but obtaining a pair would be spot on from a Retro point of view. I will post some pics with the RC30's on instead of the RC35's...
