    Re: Thanks for the replies. At this stage I'll probably try the chrome vinyl wrap. How hard can it be to cover a few tubes (famous last words) If it turns out OK I'll post some pictures.

I can't afford to spend £400.00 re-chroming and painting the SLX, and 653 shouldn't be chromed. I had an idea...Use car...

    Shame you split, depending on the rear dropout width, I would have had the complete bike. With regards to the rear dropout width, is it 126mm?
