1998 Ibis Szazbo in Warm Beer Metallic

Well the bike got finished a few months ago but we finally got time to take some pictures. I think the bike turned out great, my friend is completely stoked.

1998 Ibis Szazbo in Warm Beer Metallic

Not my bike now but I bought the frame recently,NOS from '98 , and my friend asked me to build it up for him. Most of the parts will come from a lightly used Alibi which became the "donor" bike including the SID in the pics. Those Spin wheels I had for years and never found a use for them but...

IBIS Ti Mojo LTD Titanium Mountain Bike Frame 19" L NEW

Seems to me that this is the reissue that was done by Lynskey about 2 years ago for Ibis. The ebay ad does not really illustrate this point too well. The one saving grace is that the frame was not a handjob gone wild, i.e. adding a disc brake tab after the fact.

NOS Ibis TI Mojo Frameset modified by Blacksheep - $900

That is a shame that he would do that. Blacksheep is a great company and the modification looks to be really well done but a mojo without using the original handjob is pretty lame. That goes for people who run v-brakes as well! Good thing its not my size or I would have shed a tear.

    Over Gold

I have seen gold pieces on polished frames and it always looks the sharpest. I have a gold pair of chris king hubs that are brighter than this set, but I do not think they all work together. As with any anodizing the shading makes the difference and mixing golds can work but it could also be a...

    Over Gold

I do agree that too much gold can be tacky, too much of anything really. You all have good taste if you suggested a Ti frame, gold goes great with Ti, IMHO. Problem is most of the Ti frames are top pull and my front derail is a bottom pull. So a cool steel frame paired with the gold kit and all...

    Over Gold

Not the best picture to get an idea of all the shading on the gold but it all matches perfectly. Now just need a frame to hang it on, and no your own frame is not an option.

    a couple early IFs

Hey GoldenEraMTB: I saw bushpig's ti mojo and it would be right up my alley but its not my size. There was a large size ti mojo on the bay about two months ago that sold for $800 (us) that I should have gone for but lost my nerve. Do you know if all the early IFs had the pump peg braze-ons...

    a couple early IFs

I like both bikes, the "no way jose" a bit more since the original paint is in such great shape. Still think that both of them are not as collectable due to the "writing" on the bikes. Im a big IF fan and have been seeing a lot more mid 90's models around these days. Hope to grab one or a...

    Ibis Aluminum Stem

Thanks Scant, I did not know that they were the same as a standard Control Tech stem. I do want an Ibis "branded" stem though due to the color, which is a gunmetal/ blueish color, to match my Ibis Rosies.

    Ibis Aluminum Stem

Hey all, need help finishing a build. Looking for a Ibis aluminum stem, something in a 135mm would be great. I can arrange for shipping in the UK to a friend who can bring it over to me here in the states.

    Greetings.....finally

Thank you all for the kind words. Oh and yes we have some real quality women here in Miami and no Im not sure I would trade my dusty trails for the freezing cold of Scotland. I would certainly like to visit though.

    Greetings.....finally

The best way to introduce myself is to post a pic of my bike, oh and of me as well. This picture was taken before a ride on Kingdom Trails in Vermont with my brother this past summer. I have been an avid follower of Retrobike for some time and even bought a few things from the classifieds. I...

    1998 19" Yeti ARC AS - $1,550.00

Seems to be a 96' and way overpriced.......Also it just looks like a hot mess!

Talking about the original bike referenced from Craigslist.

    Yeti ARC AS

Shock looked liked like the great example from Germany shown above. It looks to be a 96 from my research but a few of the parts were from a later date, like the citron 517 rims and the Easton carbon handlebar. I had worked him down in price a little bit but since I am not an expert when it...

    Yeti ARC AS

I saw the bike and it was not in excellent shape, decent shape by my standards. Its steel parts were all rusted and the rear suspension did not have any firmness. Frame seems to be in good shape but I didn't take the bike apart to thoroughly check it out but surprisingly the paint was in very...

    Mavic Crossmax Year by Year

I am looking to spec a set of Crossmax wheels for my 97 Ibis Alibi. I know that they are still made today, with disc and tubeless innovations and can obviously tell the old from the new but I would like to keep the bike year specific. So how can I tell a 97 from 99, is their any difference?
