    Shimano 600 crank dust caps

Re: I don't think it's the bolts themselves which are self extracting, it's the caps that screw into the crank body itself that are. Happy to be corrected on that, but in any case, that's the part I am after :) It

    UCI World Champ Bands

Hi all I'm on the lookout for some decals to spruce up my rather vanilla powder coated 531 frame. I'd like to put world champ bands on the seat tube and town tube. So far ive found plenty of standalone bands, but what I am really looking for is a pair with a plain white middle section...

Threaded fork crown race - do I need to swap?

Hi all Coming from the generation where threadless headsets in all their different dimensions make replacements a bit of a minefield, this might sound like a daft question - but I never let that stop me asking in the past :D so..... I'm replacing an old worn out tange levin headset with a...

    Sunrace and Shimano

Found a listing for this Sunrace 555EX rear mech on eBay. It looks to all intents and purposes, like a 600 arabesque rear, right down to similarities in the packaging, except with a less refined finish and different logo. Im just curious really - what was the relationship between sunrace and...

Please help me identify my wheels

Re: I'm not sure its possible to give a name to the wheels themselves, as they are probably hand made. But we might be able to identify the individual components.... Tricky at those angles, in the first photo the rims look like de-stickered mavic CXP-33s but I'm guessing the hubs being 600...

Second hand wheels - am I expecting too much?

I've picked up a bargain set of retro wheels for my Eroica build project, but similar, but in no way as bad, ive got some rusted spoke eyelets inside. I've googled "Holts cure rust" but nothing is coming back..... are there other brands or types? TT

    Brake Block "wires"? "hooks"?

Wheel guides!! Thank you :D I'm building an early 80s era bike at the moment, using Shimano 600 arabesque. I don't have brakes for it yet and given the money the arabesque brakes seem to for for on ebay i might compromise and use some diacompes of similar appearance. sjs sell them new for...

Source of new old school road wheels

Hi there Im building up a retro road bike at the mo and am in a bit of a quandary about what to do with the wheels. I dont mind the wheels not being "vintage" per se as long as their appearance is in keeping with the rest of the bike. Im also nervous of old rims blowing on old wheels so would...
