    Hack Commute Pub bike

That Rockhopper is gorgeous! Exactly what I was thinking, beautifully executed. It really brightens my day when I see machines like this, form and function in one package! And that front rack idea is a stunner! Made my day that!

    Hack Commute Pub bike

Height is 5'11, thinking I want it to feel reasonably long and relaxed(!) so my reasoning in older frame fashion is roughly a 21 inch frame- my Kona is a 19 inch, Klein is a 20 ( Klein sizing tho?) so fairly sure I'm right?

    Hack Commute Pub bike

So as title suggests, thinking of beater bike project, cos Klein is nearly finished, and won't be ridden to the pub, and Kona is working beautifully, so don't want to bllx it up fiddling! There fore a hack is needed. Thinking old steel frame, of the completely horizontal top tube type, with...

    Ponder on front mech.........

Hi everyone, A quick question regarding a front mech. I have to mount an xt mech on a freshly painted frame, so no clues on seat tube where the previous one sat. It's being paired with an xt compact crankset, anyone know a rule indicating where it should be sited? Cheers Craig

    KLEIN MC2 'MOONRISE' ATTITUDE SOLD

Hope it all turns out ok in the end Jack, but just to clarify my Jonrock reprint is exceptional, and I have nothing but praise for the transaction from start to finish. I have no affiliation with Jonrock (!) I merely wanted to supply the information you were looking for. I hope this info is...

    KLEIN MC2 'MOONRISE' ATTITUDE SOLD

Hi Jack, Just to let you know, I have received my Klein from Jonrock a few weeks ago, and not wishing to rub salt in wounds, but the paint job on both forks and frame are excellent. I could only find one minuscule transit chip, which was forgivable, as the fuselage was packed very well. I...

My oddest question yet to Klein owners.................

Sorry minor legend, I don't think I explained that bit clearly, it is indeed longer on the drive side, by a couple mm. On the development front, I tried an old stx rc crank, and hey presto, 48mm chain line! So looks like I need to source an stx rc crank, although does anyone know if higher...

My oddest question yet to Klein owners.................

Yep. Thought so. Any ideas at this stage greatly appreciated, This is really starting to sour the experience of getting my "Unicorn". Is there another set of cranks I can use for example? I need this complete by the tenth of next month for my holiday, it's beginning to look like the Kona may be...

My oddest question yet to Klein owners.................

Thanks guys, this is making me a little more confident- however taking it to a LBS in Northern Ireland is a bit risky, most I have spoke to have no idea, or simply no interest in what I am talking about. Is it possible to simply tap the axle trought a couple of mm to tidy up the chainline, or is...

My oddest question yet to Klein owners.................

yep, avatar being changed, different piccy time I think! Swapping out axle is beyondme I'm afraid, so it's time to find new cranks to suit! This leaves me with 2 questions- my bb axle appears to sit out 2 or 3 mm on drive side more than off side, why? Secondly, if I find a set of standard drive...

My oddest question yet to Klein owners.................

Ok, thinking that should be good, as my bottom bracket spindle has measured up at 113 mm- I will grab the lx from my workshop tomorrow, but damn, they need a good polish! Btw, did middleburn ever make a compact crank suitable for this size?

My oddest question yet to Klein owners.................

Have two sets of cranks at the mo, shimano lx 5 arm compact drive, and the sugino version of son ofstrong arm. Beginning to think these may be poor choice for an attitude, but I must admit I'm finding this crank situation stressful! Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated!

My oddest question yet to Klein owners.................

Could you please post some pics of the underside of your frames, bottom bracket area, so that I can gauge if my chain line and or crank position is correct? I'm in paranoia hell at the mo building my attitude, my front chain line measurement appears just over 50 mm, which by shimano standard is...

    Pace Hub question

Ok, tried both and cannot get a standard shimano qr through- one entrance will let it in by about an inch(!) the other not at all? Am I doing something wrong. Does this need a thinner qr, any ideas?
