    KHS Rebuild Help wanted please.

I've got a 93 Pro that looks the same as tiboltrider123's, let me know if you need any pics taking.

I'll be there. Bit of a delay in responding, but its the first time I've been on the site since the middle of December...

    KHS MONTANA PRO.

Without seeing some other views or getting some part numbers off the Shimano bits (probably the best indicator of year) I'd say it was slightly more recent than mine, so probably 94 or 95. The True Temper stickers look the same, but the rest are a different style. My XT cranks have the older...

    KHS

The others I remember from the 1993 range: Montana Comp - mainly LX, some different components to the Pro, no idea about the frame Montana Team - identical to the Pro but all XTR, and SPDs instead of flats with toe clips I can't remember if it had a particular name, but there was also a...

    KHS

I've had my rigid Montana Pro since new in 1993, and until this month its the only bike I've owned since it replaced my Raleigh Mustang. Most of it is still going strong, though I've had to replace the usual wear and tear parts over the years. Frame is True Temper OX2 but has a made in Taiwan...

    spinner forks?

The rigid forks on my KHS say Spinner on the dropouts, but as far as I know they made the whole fork.

Thumbshifters that fit with Hope disc levers

Just for completeness, here's a pic of the SJS thumbshifter. Looks like it should be fine, though the longer throw due to the smaller diameter of the shifter might take a bit of getting used to.

Thumbshifters that fit with Hope disc levers

Thanks for the offer, but I'm sticking with 7/8 speed bits where possible...

Thumbshifters that fit with Hope disc levers

Thanks for all the replies guys, looks like I'll be going the SJS/Forge route. Found a picture of the Pauls mounts and they have the shifter high up but a long way forward so the Forge version looks like it should be a better fit.

Thumbshifters that fit with Hope disc levers

I know its a bit modern, but I'm building a retro style lightweight XC bike from new bits (hardtail, flat bars and barends, 8 speed etc.), but really want to use thumbshifters with it as I've never got on with STI levers and don't like the idea of gripshift. The problem is that XT...

Retrobike home made bike lights project

There's a long writeup here of how I built my LED light early last year, as used in the D2D this weekend, although it didn't like having that much rainwater inside... The housing was the hardest part to sort out, and mine is very agricultural compared to the fancy CNC machined lights you see...

    Dusk Till Dawn Aftermath Thread

As the others have said, despite the rain and mud we all had a good time. I could have done with narrower tyres on to cut through the slime, but even the Michelin Mud rear was sliding around a lot. Thankfully it wasn't as cold as the frosty Friday night, I think all of us were too warm when...
