Anyone own one? Know anything about them as brand? Always thought they were German for some reason only to find there American.

KHS you say......not many about, I always like the look of them though

Neil__j is your man, he did D2D with us on his one.

My one and only road bike is a KHS Aero Turbo. I've had it for probably 13 years now and I've never wanted another road bike which really says two things... 1. Its a nice bike; and 2. I don't ride on the road very often.

I own a modern one and its very very light and very stiff. Love mine to bits! Very nearly bought a matching NOS 2k5 full suspension one to go with it earlier this year, but plumped for the specialised epic on a 0% deal in the end.

Ive never owned or ridden a retro one though i'm affraid.

Great bikes - bought a KHS Montanta Pro in 1994 (i think). Full XT groupset, 24lbs ish rigid bike. My first XC race bike. Loved it.

Now serving as my singlespeed commuter - posted some pics recently.

Need to have a look for that

Actually I had seen it before very nice, good way to keep the old girl going :D

I've had my rigid Montana Pro since new in 1993, and until this month its the only bike I've owned since it replaced my Raleigh Mustang. Most of it is still going strong, though I've had to replace the usual wear and tear parts over the years. Frame is True Temper OX2 but has a made in Taiwan sticker on it.

Seem to remember it got full marks in a MBUK review at the time, which was part of the reason I ended up getting it, but as a lightweight bike with full XT it was better specced than most of the competition. I managed to avoid the dodgy bright blue/pink paint scheme that they had on some models at the time.

I'll certainly never be parting with it.

Its possible I've got the KHS catalogue for that year buried in a pile of old MBUKs.

Good stuff Neil, the one I've got is a slightly older model, hoping to date it a bit better once I get it, but it has an XT u brake so hopefully not too difficult. Really excited about it, my favourite bikes have all been steel and this one is tange triple butted, probably a different tubeset from yours. I've breifly looked over the mtbr reviews which do vary decribing it as flexy, but one mans flexy is anothers comfy :D

i remember the pro getting full marks in mbuk. i'd live one of those in my shed. it was the reason my dad bought his khs but sadly his was the lowly montanna summit. he still has it and i get to ride it every now and again. it was relatively cheap back then (350 from memory) but the frame is very good. it rides really well
