KHS

The montana name seems to cover a multitude of specs from lowly to high end, wonder if the frames differed?

yeah i'm pretty sure they differed. dont think my dads is double butted

I've mailed them see if they shed any light on the frame. The fans seem to be few and far between but loving the bikes all the same.

Good stuff Neil, the one I've got is a slightly older model, hoping to date it a bit better once I get it, but it has an XT u brake so hopefully not too difficult. Really excited about it, my favourite bikes have all been steel and this one is tange triple butted, probably a different tubeset from yours. I've breifly looked over the mtbr reviews which do vary decribing it as flexy, but one mans flexy is anothers comfy :D

Cool  , look forward to seeing that as well as the Stumpy ;)

I had a Montana summit i think it was called in about 96.........it was True Temper....and it rode real well. Blue / green fade.

My 1993 KHS Montana Summit.

The others I remember from the 1993 range:
Montana Comp - mainly LX, some different components to the Pro, no idea about the frame
Montana Team - identical to the Pro but all XTR, and SPDs instead of flats with toe clips
I can't remember if it had a particular name, but there was also a version of the Team with a titanium frame.

And here's a picture of my bike as it was a year ago.
