RBotM AUGUST 2017 - REYNOLDS 531 MONTH! NOW CLOSED!

Re: Here's my Legnano Olimpiade Record Specialissima from the early 80s made with 531. At this time Bianchi had taken over Legnano and some of the frames are made from Columbus or Falck tubing. Build thread can be found here: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=310792

    Gios Professional C-Record

I can't say exactly as the frame was repainted prior to my ownership. The frame is clearcoated over the decals and it seems to be good quality, apart from that the paint seems to chip too easily. I've heard this about a few Cycleart paint jobs. A while back I emailed them about getting some...

    Gios Professional C-Record

Re: ^ This frame makes me wish the PO had painted the headtube blue. I've ordered some Jagwire blue brake cable housing, and I'm hoping they are a dark enough blue to match the downtube bands. The next thing is to try and find a dark blue saddle, perhaps another Turbo, but they seem to be hard...

    Gios Professional C-Record

This one might not be for the Gios purists as the frame was repainted in Molteni orange by Cycleart. Confirmed by Gios as an '86 frame. I've had this frame for a couple of years and I had it built up with Campag SR, but a C-Record group came my way so it got an upgrade. Frame: 1986 Gios...

    Tommasini Comp 1989

This is a 56cm Tommasini Comp frame that has likely been repainted sometime in it's life by a previous owner (relatively recently as the paint is mint). A "Prestige" decal is present on the top tube, but this is actually a "Comp" model. I presume the correct "Comp" decal was not available in the...

    Legnano Olimpiade finished project

Re: Thanks for the kind words. The metallic blue of the frame and the gold/brown of the decals and tubs goes together well, so I might look for a suede brown Turbo or Rolls saddle to see how that looks.

    Legnano Olimpiade finished project

Re: Time for an update on this bike. All of the DA parts were moved onto my '79 RIH. This Legnano is now fully Campagnolo Record/Super Record with Cinelli bars and stem. Rims are Wolber Aspin Super Champion.

Help needed with age and model of this Legnano

Re: That looks a lot like my Legnano Olimpiade Record Specialissima built with Reynolds 531. I've seen similar frames made with Falke and Columbus tubing. viewtopic.php?f=23&t=310792&p=2325894&hilit=legnano#p2325894 I've not been able to nail down the exact year, but '79/'80 seems about...

    Colnago Mexico build

Re: I was maybe thinking of doing yellow infill on the part of the rear mech with the raised "Campagnolo" lettering. I've seen a few done like that.

    Colnago Mexico build

I picked up this Colnago Mexico frame about 18 months ago. I think it's a late 70s frame. These Mexico's are made from Columbus KL tubing and it weighs 1780g frame / 717g fork.

RBotM JULY - SHIMANO MONTH - NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN -

RPotM JULY - SHIMANO MONTH - NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN -

Re: Thanks for the kind comments. Jamie - I will certainly create a thread for the RIH soon, but I'm having trouble finding a set of Dura Ace 7200 braze-on DT shifters to complete the build (and then I have the issue of mounting them on normal "square" bosses). Shaun - I got lucky in that the...

    Bunch of old Campy stuff

undibs 2 & 3. the levers are a good deal, but unfortunately the exchange rate is a killer for me at the moment. GLWS.

    Bunch of old Campy stuff

dibs 2) & 3) 2) Campy brake levers (non drilled). Much better shape than the other ones, no significant scratches. NOW 20$ plus shipping (now sporting the tatty hoods as the guy who bought the other set wanted the nicer hoods on so I swapped them, was a local sale didn't have to deal with...

    Legnano Olimpiade finished project

Thx. I polished the brake calipers, seatpost and pedals. I may also polish the chainset as there is scuffing to the ends of the cranks.

    Legnano Olimpiade finished project

This is a project that I've just finished. I had collected a mix of Campagnolo and Dura Ace components, but no frame for quite a while. And then I picked this frame up locally. If any Legnano experts could give me more info on the frame's year that would be great. It's late 70's, early 80's for...
