Hi there, I think your 'more likely' is correct,. That shoulder on the upper cup is Chorus shaped. The C-record is a single taper shape. Caged bearing ball count will confirm. 20x3/16 Chorus, 25x5/32 C-record. All Velobase.com information.

A thought here - Not all people have equal inside leg measurements ( nor hand or feet sizes or arm length), so it's quite possible that for some people, different L and R crank lengths are a necessity. Anyone on here finding this or know of it? Especially if it is amongst the professionals...

Hi Ray. Well it certainly is wider than 126mm! The dropout doesn't quite appear 135mm but certainly is 130 or so. For a more accurate indication, your rule '0' left end needs to be against the flat where the locknut fits, you can see the nut marks on the flat where you should measure from...

Re: rear frame dropout width. Whoah there! You say 135mm width, on a 1981 frame? Not likely. The dimension should be measured with the wheel removed, BETWEEN the inside faces of the dropouts, where the hub axle/bearing cone lock nuts abutted. I think you may be measuring the outsides of those...
