I don't think saved is the right word for this bike, I think its pretty much dead. Might be able to salvage the hubs and forks but that's it I'm afraid. Brakes seized beyond repair, currently in 1000 pieces with pistons well and truly seized.

Bugger it, convinced me. Decent parts but been sat outside for a while, going to be a slow burner

Fully working with brand new (less than 30 miles) bearings, pawls and springs. Dented my rim beyond repair so selling the hub and Freehub as don't have the time to rebuild the wheel. Come with 135mm quick release or can throw in through axle kit if required. £60 with free postage.

As a fan of rock lobster going way back, this is correct, 853 was steel and the SL was aluminium

You've just bought one too? It's a lovely bike. Back in 1998 I opted for the Rock Lobster over this from the Merlin adverts in MBUK. Never regretted the choice as the RL was amazing, but still always wanted one.
